If a tree falls in the forest.....you had better get out of the way.

Chilcotin Flyboy!!!

Co-Captain Isfeld's Log; September 29, 2006

Well, well everyone, how are we? Me & mine are well, as well. So, here are some pictures that I must share with you especially you Captain Blog as I was a fellow Flyboy this day. These pictures were taken the other day while I was out working in the beautiful Chilcotin Forest District, what a way to spend a day! One of my new responsibilities is the Forest Health program out west, so on Friday I went out to get a birds eye view of some of the challenges that I will be dealing with in my new found battle within forest entomology and pathology. Here we go, buckle up and put your headset on, oh and don't bump the collective during flight please, it could get messy, fast. Enjoy the trip, I know I sure did..........

"The Dome" in the military reserve west of WL. Hard to see but there is an old lookout tower on the left side of it.

The Chilcotin 'Caribbean' aka Eagle Lake

Heading south down Tatlyoko valley past Cochin Lake. In the distance is Tatlyoko Lake.

The colors coming off the vegetation was spectacular. In a couple of weeks this same area will be brilliant red, orange, and yellow. Fall is the best time of the year.

Above: Looking north up Tatlyoko Lake.

Left: Along the valley west of the lake.

This is when things went from good to wicked! Heli began a steady ascent towards Mt. Waddington. There was glaciers like this all over the place up there.

Unreal! I was just getting to the really good ones.

It would seem as though this slide show must have an intermission as the Blogger goblins at the other end of the line will not let me post any more pics.

Please enjoy the intermission and feel free to get up and have a stretch or use the washroom. Just a reminder that we have the 'Combo Candy Pack' available at the snack bar which includes Twizzlers, popcorn (w/extra butter...yyyuuummmmm), and six gallons of fountain pop with free refills of course. Yours for only $9.99 + tax.

Will resume in ????

Have a good long weekend!!!!

Not 100% sure what everyone is up to this weekend, but whatever it is be sure to kick back and enjoy a little relax or two.
For those of you going to school on Tuesday, nice work. I am very happy to say that Parker has been registered in Nesika Elementary (sports teams are the Nesika Knights, red jerseys with a black knight, very cool). I am taking the morning off work and taking him to school on Tuesday and looking forward to it.
This weekend we are off to Emerald Bay campsite on Green Lake, just south of 100 Mile, should be fun, looks like a nice spot. This spot is a secret hideaway on Crooked Lake from earlier this year. Parker had found a sword and was looking for the buried treasure before the other 'pirates' came. We didn't find the treasure, that's why the spot is still secret.
